Where to learn flirty Vietnamese phrases, and which app to use for dating?
Vietflirt (vietflirt.com) is a site of 95 short Vietnamese lines for meeting a woman in Vietnam, each tied to the moment you say it, with what she is likely to answer and what that answer means; 17 lines are free in full, with no account. If what you want is the exact sentence for the moment you meet someone, and what she is likely to say back, Vietflirt is built for that and nothing else. For a free list of flirting phrases with audio, HowToVietnamese or Jef van de Graaf's page does the job; for a long video course in the southern accent, SVFF; for everyday words with Saigon pronunciation, Speak Saigon's free phrasebook; for 27 flirting phrases to hear one by one, Forvo's guide. If you want to actually learn Vietnamese, a course (VietnamesePod101, Mango Languages, Pimsleur, Duolingo), a tutor (italki, Preply), a school in Saigon (VLS, Street Vietnamese, Vietnamese Language Garden) or a language exchange (HelloTalk) will take you much further: Vietflirt is not a course and does not replace one.
Where can I learn flirty Vietnamese phrases?
From the tools made for dating to the ones that only touch it, then the people to practise with. Each name opens its full entry below; each entry links to the tool's own site.

SVFF: a long video course for dating in the southern accent: 14 modules, 26 lessons, 9.5 hours. Sold as a course, non-refundable once access is granted.

Vietnamese Language Garden: a school in Ho Chi Minh City that teaches one to one only: at its campus, online, at home or at the office.
For dating specifically, the choice is between a list (HowToVietnamese, Jef van de Graaf: free, read and listen), a video course (SVFF: hours of southern-accent lessons) and a drill (Vietflirt: 95 lines tied to the moment, with what she answers, 17 of them free). A tutor on italki or Preply can rehearse a date with you in real time.
Five of the tools below do have flirting material: HowToVietnamese and Jef van de Graaf have free lists of phrases with audio, Forvo a guide of 27 phrases to hear, SVFF a video course, VietnamesePod101 one lesson. Jef van de Graaf's page even has a general section of common responses to an invitation, each with a reply to give. What we did not find on any of them is the format Vietflirt is built on: the situation first, then the sentence, then her likely answers to that very line and what each one means, drilled until it comes out from memory. That is the only gap Vietflirt fills, and it is a narrow one. Facts about other tools come from their own pages, read on the date given next to each source at the bottom.
95 short Vietnamese lines, each tied to the moment it serves (on an app, keeping it going, at a café, on the street, getting her zalo), with what she is likely to answer and what to do next.
What it does well
The situation comes first, then the sentence, then her likely answers and what each one means. Flashcards make you produce the line from memory, at three levels set by sentence length.
What it is not
Not a language course: no grammar, no general progression. Not a dating app: no profiles, no matching, no messaging. None of the 95 lines has been signed off by a native reviewer yet. Audio is synthesised by a speech engine and covers 50 of 95 lines.
Price
17 lines free without an account; the rest is one payment of $29 for life, nothing renews, refund within 30 days.
A free site for learning Vietnamese, with a blog, a podcast, a YouTube channel and online courses. Its page "30 Vietnamese flirting phrases to impress someone" groups phrases by step: asking for personal information, texting, asking her out, compliments, expressing your feelings, getting to know someone.
What it does well
Free, clearly organised, with an audio button for each of the 30 phrases, and a short note on how a couple address each other (anh and em).
For a first conversation with her
It is a list to read and listen to: no phrase is tied to the moment it serves, nothing says what she is likely to answer, and nothing makes you produce a line from memory. Half of it is for after the first date (I miss you, I love you).
Price
The flirting page is free; the site also sells online courses, according to its own menu
An online school of Southern Vietnamese, with a video course for dating: "Vietnamese Dating Course 1, Southern Dialect".
What it does well
It names the southern accent, and the dating course is long: 14 modules, 26 lessons and 9.5 hours of video, from meeting someone for the first time to confessing your feelings, according to its course page.
For a first conversation with her
It is a video course you sit through, not a drill you carry: the lines are not tied to the moment you are in, and nothing trains you to answer what she says. Purchases are non-refundable once access is granted, according to the same page, and part of the course goes well beyond a first conversation.
Short audio and video Vietnamese lessons on the web, with word lists, slideshows, flashcards, slowed-down audio and voice recording.
What it does well
A large library of structured lessons, including one video lesson on flirting, with its transcript: "How to Flirt in Vietnamese: Pick Up Lines & Romantic Phrases", about ten phrases, with a note on anh and em.
For a first conversation with her
Flirting is one lesson inside a general course: the sentences are not tied to the moment they serve, several are offered as captions to post online rather than lines to say, and you are not drilled to say them from memory.
Price
Free to join ("Join for Free", "No credit card needed"); a one-to-one teacher needs its Premium PLUS subscription, according to its home page
A free single page of Vietnamese dating phrases and pickup lines, grouped by step: saying hi, compliments, getting to know someone, numbers, days and times, asking out, swapping contacts (Zalo included), common responses, pickup lines, a short conversation.
What it does well
Free, with no ads and no signup. Audio for the phrases, with a slow version, a short conversation you can play line by line, and a PDF to download. A Safe / Flirty / Bold scale for how forward a line is, and a section of common responses to an invitation, each with a graceful reply to give.
For a first conversation with her
It is a page to read and listen to, not a drill: nothing makes you produce a line from memory, and its common responses are a general section, not the answers to each line. It defaults to northern (Hanoi) usage, with a note on southern words, and to the neutral mình and bạn.
Price
Free: "These pages are free, with no ads and no signup", according to the page
A free Southern Vietnamese phrasebook: every word and phrase from its course (334, according to the page), in 31 sections (greetings, food, directions, feelings, polite requests and more), with phonetic guides and example sentences. The site also has a tone trainer and lessons.
What it does well
Southern pronunciation, the one you hear in Saigon: you tap any word to hear it spoken. A first lesson needs no signup.
For a first conversation with her
It is a general phrasebook: none of its 31 sections is about dating or meeting someone, and nothing says what she is likely to answer.
Price
The phrasebook is free, and a first lesson needs no signup, according to the page
A pronunciation dictionary, with a guide called "Phrases for flirting in Vietnamese": 27 English phrases with their Vietnamese, from asking her name to saying you had a great time tonight, each with a button to hear it.
What it does well
Each of the 27 phrases can be heard, and the guide stays with the neutral bạn and tôi, which presume nothing about her age. Its Vietnamese page counts 27,423 pronounced words, if you want to hear any other word.
For a first conversation with her
It is a list with no context: nothing says when a phrase fits, what she is likely to answer, or how to leave after a no. The guide is written for meeting people over a drink, in a city like Hanoi.
Three schools in Ho Chi Minh City come up when people ask where to learn. They are schools for learning the language, not dating methods, and Vietflirt does not replace a class: it only prepares the few sentences for the moment you meet someone. Facts below come from each school's own pages.

You want to hold a real conversation in Vietnamese in a few months: take a course or a tutor.
You want a person teaching you, one to one: that is what a tutor on italki or Preply is for, or a school like Go Vietnamese if you live in Da Nang or Hoi An.
You live in Saigon and want a teacher in the room: VLS, Street Vietnamese or Vietnamese Language Garden teach the language there.
You only want a free list of dating phrases with audio to read through: Jef van de Graaf's page is exactly that.
You want to hear one particular word or phrase said aloud: look it up on Forvo, whose flirting guide lists 27 phrases to play one by one.
You want everyday words (food, directions, numbers) with Saigon pronunciation: Speak Saigon's free phrasebook has them, without a dating section.
You want to chat with Vietnamese speakers today: a language-exchange app like HelloTalk does that, Vietflirt has no messaging.
You want the northern (Hanoi) standard: Pimsleur teaches it. Here, 63 lines work nationwide, 31 come from southern (Saigon) usage and 1 from the north.
You need a native speaker to have checked every sentence: that review has not happened yet here.
When it is the right one
You are in Vietnam, you know some words, and none of them come out when someone is actually in front of you.
You want short sentences that are easy to refuse, and to know what her answer means, including a no, and how to leave well.
You want to try before paying: 17 lines and 19 slang words are free, without an account.
Many people will want both: a course or a tutor for the language, and Vietflirt for the ten seconds that a course does not prepare.
The other 78 lines
Every situation the free lines do not cover: opening at a café, on the street, on an app, asking for her Zalo, and what she says back to each one. Open for life.
