vietflirt is made by Vincent Roye, a French engineer who has lived in Vietnam since 2014. It started as a private list of the words his Vietnamese friends kept using in group chats and that no textbook, no dictionary and no app explained.
The site teaches one thing: the Vietnamese slang of dating, flirting and heartbreak. 61 words today, 16 of them free to read in full, the other 45 in one pack you buy once.
Every word is collected from how young Vietnamese people actually write and talk: Zalo and Messenger threads, TikTok comments, and the conversations around us. Each entry records its sources, its region (North, Centre or South) and who you can safely say it to.
A native speaker is reviewing the whole catalogue. Today 0 of 61 words carry a review date, and each of those says so on its page. We would rather tell you that than claim a review that has not happened yet.
A word that is dated, a nuance that is wrong, a sentence nobody would send: write to vincent.roye@golivesoftware.co. Corrections go live the same week.
